Jeffrey F. Phelan has more than 30 years of experience in the construction and real estate development arenas.  During his career he has developed more than 27 million square feet of industrial, office and retail properties.  
As DCT Industrial Trust, Inc.’s National President of Development and Managing Director for the Western United States since March 2010, Mr. Phelan’s focus is on managing the Western United States portfolio and growing its value-add, build-to-suit and development business across the company’s other key markets in the United States. 

Prior to joining DCT, Mr. Phelan founded his own company, Phelan Development, a privately held real estate company headquartered in Southern California.  Since its inception in 2006, Mr. Phelan and his team have developed and managed millions of square feet of commercial property.

In 1994, Mr. Phelan became the Senior Operating Partner of Panattoni Development Company, a commercial real estate development company specializing in industrial, office and retail projects with offices in the United States, Europe and Canada.  He launched Panattoni’s development operations in Southern California and managed the company’s largest regional office with over $1.6 billion in development.
